A Toronto *eyes open* landmark. Also seen over at Chris’.

I don’t expect to be seeing this sight much in the next few months. Here in Toronto an empty TTC streetcar is pretty much a summer occurance. During the winter months it seems like every streetcar is filled to bursting, either too hot or too cold, and has a river of melted slush on the floor.

We went to see Gus van Sant’s newest movie, Elephant, last night. The way it was shot is quite beautiful with lots of natural light and colour combinations that had the two of us thinking about the sort of pictures you can get from a Lomo LC-A. It’s a very minimal movie with some faults but overall I enjoyed it quite a bit.

This is the same site as the previous entry. The car with the blown out rear window was filled with bicycle tire rims and on this day we saw the fruit of that collection; what looks to be the most uncomfortable frankencycle ever shocked into existance.

As there have been some people wondering where the alley swing is located (if it’s still there) it’s in the much graffitied alley just south of Queen St. West between Spadina and Augusta.

The swing is tucked in a narrow space between two buildings and was anonymously erected and open to the public for a very brief amount of time before someone had an iron gate put in place.

I must say that whoever put that swing there is a genius in my eyes and whoever put up the iron gate is officially a curmudgeon.
