Location. Location. Location. Another picture from the backlot across the tracks from our place. These are shots of the dashboard controls of “Pinky’s Truck” (so named because someone wrote “Pinky’s Truck” on the front).
It’s one of those long flatbed trucks for hauling anything from massive machinery to those big concrete sewer ducts.
We’ve taken photos at this location many times now and while it’s growing a little tired it can still have that element of surprise.

I’ve been doing a bit more selective cropping of my photos recently. Gayla noticed that I must have some sort of longing to use some of her medium format cameras since I’ve been cropping a few 35mm shots down to squares.
I’m free to use the medium format cameras but I’ll held off for some reason. Maybe I just equate them with carrying multiple cameras around (Gayla often has 5 or more cameras with her) but I’ve been pushing my own smaller is better boundaries lately by carrying around the Canon AE-1 with an 80-200mm lens plus the Fed-5. Not exactly the lightest two camera in the world. I’ve even brought our lighter tripod along a few times so who am I kidding?
I’ll eventually make my way into the medium format world. But we do have a half-frame 35mm “Chajka” on the way from the Ukraine so I’ll likely go nuts with that for a while.

This shot was taken on World Toy Camera Day but I wasn’t playing along since I had recently discovered that our 80-200mm lens was not broken as previously thought.
