Hello? Hello? Can you hear me now?

Very cool shot, Davin.

Fantastic shot! Love the colors and balance of composition. The red, the black, the phone, the lines, all come together nicely. You have a consistent feel across your images, which is great. I’m envious :)

Would you say the consistency is from film, lighting and color? Or more with style and subject? Do you normally shoot at the same time of day, which I would guess is around sunset due to the warm colors? what film do you use?

Sorry for all the questions, just curious and interested.
Keep up the great work!

Sweet capture. The handpiece in particular is sweet.

Great shot. I like the broken handset, the graffiti, and the color. Everythings matches nicely in this photo.

Great shot, I love coming across shots that seem to tell a story.

Great shot with a touch of DOF! I don’t know about anyone, but when I look at this picture for a few seconds, it feels like the handset is slilghtly swaying. Real cool shot!

Marcus, I use mostly one of four types of film but their colour characteristics (as far as my novice eye can tell) are quite different. I use Fuji Superia or Reala (quite similar but reala is a bit more “controlled”), Fuji NPC (my current fave / quite neutral but colours are still rich), or Agfa Optima II (very saturated reds and yellows).

I do look for certain types of light for sure but it isn’t always at the same time of day necessarily. But I do love the “magic hour” just before dusk when the light gets low and golden. Actually, I like golden light in general.

My thought right now is that I would like to continue to use the Fuji NPC since the others are maybe too saturated for my liking now. NPC is unfortunately pro film and so much more expensive (especially in Toronto for some reason) which is difficult because I am not a professional photographer and the expense is already high.

cool shot! coincidentally, I’m also shooting with a normal lens.
