I’m picking up a couple of rolls of film today which will hopefully contain some nice winter shots. I’ve been sort of scraping the barrel on the last few photos as I get pickier with myself.

Half of one of the rolls I’ll get today is my first test of the Jupiter-11 135mm lens I got for the Fed5. It’s an awkward shooting process as the lens doesn’t couple with the rangefinder visually so I have to frame the shot using this little turret-style multi viewfinder and then focus using the rangefinder viewer. It’s all made even clumsier by the cold and not really being able to wear gloves while performing this little photo ballet. We’ll see what came of it…

Okay, this is pulled from a couple of months back when everything wasn’t covered in snow. It seems like I’ve had half rolls in the few cameras that I have for quite a while now. The days are either too grey or too freezing.

We did brave the elements the other day to take some pictures in High Park. It seemed at first to be somewhat mild but we were just kidding ourselves. I’ve noticed that the 28-80mm lens on the AE-1 gets a point of frost at its centre when it’s too cold. I have to watch out for that and keep my glove covering the lens in-between shots.

This is one of a few photos taken on the set of “Moss,” a film directed by Zachary Derhodge. This shot was taken on what was an particularly exciting day for Gayla and I as Jayne Eastwood, Gerard Parkes, and Sean McCann were on-set.

We’ve been a fan of Jayne’s especially for years and it was great talking with her and seeing how much she embodies some of the characters she has played while still being very individual.
