Hey Davin, just curious if you switched film brands, or if the difference in colour tone on these last rolls is down to the lens? or, does everything just look redder in whatever town you were in?

Could be a combination of both.

Around the same time as I started using the Nikon I also bought a box of 50 rolls of Agfa Optima II which does have particularly vibrant reds.

But the Nikon’s lens a lowish-end 28-80mm may have some tone of its own that’s getting added in.

i’ll bet it’s the film, for sure.

but that lens is poo compared to your canon 50 1.8. that’s whats really missing from this batch… the shallow depth of field that you employ so deftly.

Yeah, the lens is pretty crummy but it was kindly loaned to me so it’s been nice just to have any lens for the Nikon. The first lens I’ll purchase for the Nikon will likely be a 50/1.8.
