Looking at this photograph makes me wonder why the Bibles were put in that box. Was someone intending to throw them away or were they taking them somewhere? Found objects like this always pique my curiosity.

this picture speaks to me of perspective. I saw Romanian peasants weep to hold a Bible in their hands after the fall of Communism. Something denied can be so much more precious than something we have in abundance. Points of view make all the difference.

the question that gets me, though (probably very connected to this picture) is when you get a new Bible, what do you do with your old, beat-up one?? Probably these Bibles were replaced by newer ones for a church or sunday school and no-one really knew what to do with the old ones.
