it’s true!

There is a ceramics supplier downtown in my city that has a truck in their warehouse that reads, “Ceramics, the worlds most fascinating hobby!” in big letters. Every time I see that truck it makes me laugh. “Bowling is Fun” is amusing in a similar way. Good looking photograph, it is as nice as the one from yesterday.

Love to steal signs like these maybe!?

Hey,
great photo, i saw you took it with a zenit. I have recently compounded my russain camera obsession with the purchase of a fed3. I like the rangefinder but man are those russian cameras quirky! I did a test roll and got about 9 frames out of a roll of 24 because sometimes the shutter will not cock when winding the film advance lever; it just keeps winding film through. Does yours have problems like this, or are you one of the luck ones?

Hi Jeremy. Well, the Fed3 and the Zenit have a bunch of years between them and they’re pretty different cameras. The Zenit is an SLR camera and handles in most ways like a clunkier version of the Canon AE-1. The Zenit does have screw mount lenses but they’re a different size than the Feds.

I do have a FED5 though and while it is quirky and heavy as a brick I’ve taken some good shots with it. Sounds like you just got a bum Fed3.

There’s a kinda lonely atmosphere to this shot that I love.
