Neoca 2s

Probably the only photo I’ll ever post from this camera. It’s a funny little 1955 Nikon knockoff. I got it super cheap recently and learned quickly that it has problems. The biggest of the problems is that the rangefinder is totally off and the lesser being that it scratshes up the film pretty badly.

Maybe I can open it up and try to adjust the rangefinder, who knows…

My two cents: I rather like the scratches. They add character.

I share those sentiments. The scratches add character and for this particular photograph help the composition. I would like to see at least a few other photographs from the Neoca 2S.

Funny… I was going to say that I liked the scratches, but it looks like I’ve been beaten to it. :)

Not sure I’d want all my film to be “damaged” like that, but it is fun to look at. Kind of like how old movies have those vertical scratches and little randomly reccuring blips.

I’ll be a 4th saying I like the scratches, but the caveat is, I’d get sick of them pretty fast if they were on every photo I took. The novelty will wear off fast I think.

Yeah, see, that’s the thing. I don’t mind cameras that have “quirks” but having the scratches across every photo (and that top scratch is nasty) wears thin in seconds.

But the main issue with the Neoca is that it essentially zone focus now and I don’t really trust it that way either.

as everyone before me have said; the scratches add to the photo. and i really like the shallow dof and color range.

Yeh the scratches look real nice; along with the colours they make the shot look like an old weathered print.
