mike’s munchies 5

Canon AE-1
The second-to-last Mike’s Munchies photo until I can get back there during the daytime.
I’m a sucker for arrow signage so I had to take a shot of the bright yellow one which used to point to the ‘home of the homeburger’.

emily and i got inside last night. we took a whole bunch of pics of the place. i particularly took a whole bunch of portraits of the owner, who seemed a little unnerved by the situation. i shot some b+w on the ferrania and some nph on the agfa optima. emily only used her owl and i think her’s are gonna turn out real nice. i’m a little worried about the ferrania shots though. i’ll e-mail them to you guys when i get them.
btw, the owner asked if i had come around last saturday. he wasn’t happy. he took down my license plate # “for safekeeping.”
Was he worried that we were “casing” the place or something. What did you say about it — just that we thought the place was amazing and had to take pictures of it?
Either that or he thinks that we’re trying to make some money off of using his place in photos for an ad campaign or something.
We got some great cameras from Henry’s today. They’re Zenit 35mm SLRs. $20!
he said he doesn’t mind us taking pictures, we should just ask first. he mentioned something about an “ask-first policy.” was very grumpy until i asked him if i could take some shots of him at the grill. it was then that he started smiling like a wild clown. we parted on good terms and with a handshake. i’m gonna give him a print or two.
$20 for two zenits? or $20 each? i was in the newmarket henry’s yesterday and saw an ae-1p body selling for $199.
also, i’ve been meaning to ask you and gayla: how did the zoo photos turn out? anything worth posting? i’m still waiting on my iffy roll. wondering about that insane sun/moon thing we got near the end of the day, how did that one translate?
The Zenits were $20 each. Pretty amazing.
That’s an okay price for an AE-1P body. You can get lens fairly cheaply as you know from some of mine.
Many of my zoo shots were unexposed because of the crappy light that day. The sun/moon shots are boring unfortunately — didn’t capture what we saw at all.
I’ll probably post a couple of the other photos but I have to take a good look at them.
