how do you create the funky borders?

The borders are the actual edges of the film. The photo place we go to has this print option which they call “Black Rebate”. I like to have my prints done this way since there is no subjective cropping done by the technician — I get the whole photo as I framed it.

I also like the aesthetic that the borders add as well.

aha! I thought maybe you were scanning the photos in and doing the borders yourself in PS. The photo place I take my film too does an effect similar to this called “sloppy borders”. I also dig the aesthetic.
