This is from our Ward’s Island jaunt with Rannie the other weekend. We keep hoping that we’ll get just a bit more sun before friggin’ ol’ man winter gives us the back of his hand. There have been a number of days recently that began with promising sun but ended up grey-grey-grey as soon as we stepped one foot out the door.

Since our photography blitz has only really gained momentum over the summer, we don’t yet know how the winter is going to change our camera-related habits. There’s been talk of getting multiple shutter releases for all cameras that will take them simply to avoid removing gloves once the real cold comes.

I’m not looking forward to the winter at all. I would be happy with a perpetual early fall (the late fall stinks almost more than full-on winter as it likes to taunt you into thinking there might still be one fresh sunny day left).

i like the color palette of this photo. it really does invoke the darker elements of fall. it also reminds me of the later scenes of the godfather between al pacino and kiane keaton on the street.

Great picture and I agree with e.ku - it’s very godfather-esque!

I’m going to have to re-watch The Godfather since I don’t remember the scene. The blues of the stroller are good against the yellow leaves.

We’re hoping to have at least one more trip to Ward’s Island while there are still a few leaves clinging to the trees. It snowed yesterday and today though, so I’m going to cross my fingers pretty tightly that we haven’t left fall behind.

I tried taking some photos of this stroller too but with an old box camera and some toy cameras but it was REALLY dark when we found it. From a distance it looked older and creepier. Not that it isn’t old and creepy as is. Lately we keep finding abandoned strollers which is pretty weird.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing. There is something about an abandoned stroller that just seems eerie and wrong.

the colors are very nice.

I was trying to think of what it reminded me of & I remembered… we keep finding really old toys and dolls buried underneath the leaves in the woods behind our house… well, by “we” I mean “the dogs”. but finding the toys and discarded dolls always makes me sad for some reason.
